Now we have the Paralympics next to the Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan.
From Tendo city, Ms. Kyoko OKUYAMA has taken part in the ice sledge only athlete in Yamagata.
And she got the bronze medal !!
The Paralympics is less popular than the Olympic Games in Japan.
But a getting medals will makes it more popular.
March 7 (Sat.) Back to the winter

These days, we had very warm days, so I thought that the spring would come soon.
But suddenly we have much snow today !!
It is very rare in this season that we want to turn a car's lights because of much snow in the daytime.
But inski grounds, they are happy because they can get pure snow instead of icy snow.
March 5 (Thu.) Bookstore managed by car dealer

Today, we have another big bookstore in Tendo. It is named "Miyawaki syoten".
This bookstore has a system of franchise. There are many bookstore in Japan.
At first, a car dealer for TOYOTA has that area. But they decided to start a new devision.
So they opened it. Thay say that it is the first time that a car dealer open a bookstore in Yamagata Prefecture.
They have a large parking space, 105 cars. Many costamers will visit from outside of Tendo.
March 3 (Tue.) Japanese Hina dolls

They started the festival of Hina Ningyou (Japanese traditional hina dolls) at the old Higashi-Murayama county museum.
In Japan, we have a convention which a family with little girls displays Japanese hina dolls.
It was a first day to display and many people visited to look at.
I think that so many people will visit this weekend.
But there is only small parking space, about 10 cars.
Perhaps there will be a jam.
In this term, there are a lot of festival of Hina dolls here and there.
Others display only 1 set of Hina dools.
But in Tendo, they display different 13 set of hina dolls.
So you can many variety of Hina Dolls.
March 1 (Sun.) Rich nature

We had the athletic meeting of Alpine at the Tendo Kougen (Tendo heights) today.
And I run into a wild squirrel on my way to the ski ground.
He appeared from the right forest with a big nut. He passed across the road and looked at me on the left side of the road. He dissapered when I passed by.
I was unlucky that I could not take a photo because my camera is in my bag and I kept driving.
If I had taken a photo, you could watch him ...
