"the 13th Tohoku Hawaiian Summit in Tendo"

at the Tendo Hotel in Tendo spa.

At that event, fans of Hawaiian music gather togather in Tendo in Spring, in Sendai in Autumn.

Every time, they gather from not only Tohoku area but also

April 4 (Sat.) Bring up new craftsmen
(the highest temperature 15.5C / the lowest temperature -1.4C / weather - fine)

They organize the system of craftsman of Shogi (Japanese chess).

The first president is "Taro ITO", one of craftsmen of "Kaki Koma" (painting Shogi piece).

In April 1996, they made Shogi pieces in Tendo the traditional craftworks in Japan.

And at the end of 1997,

11 craftsmen

tried the examination for Oficial craftsmen and they all passed.

They try hard to bring up new yonger craftsmen.

April 3 (Fri.) Studying about TENDO

"The Yamagata-ken Seinen no Ie" has a meeting to study about Tendo city.
You have a lecture about the history of Tendo city and make a shogi (Japanese chess) piece by yourself.

Sometimes one people put thier refuse near the tourist resorts.

They want to protect because of the 40th aniversary of Tendo city this year.
