June 14 (Sun.) National competition of Shogi

Every August 3 and 4

, we have the national competition of Shogi (Japanese chess) for junior high school students.

And they have the preliminary cotest.

The following people get the ticket to take part in the national competition as the representative in Tendo City and Yamagata Prefecture.

At the competition, one of the royal family

will come.

Tendo city office makes new guide book for tourists, named

"Tendo Setsu"

It is named after the Japanese word of the geocentric system.

All pages are named after the

Shogi (Japanese chess) pieces

"Ou", "Kin", "Gin" etc.

June 9 (Tue.) Night game of Baseball
(the highest temparature 25.4C / the lowest temparature 14.1C / weather - cloudy)

We have a professional baseball game "Seibu Lions vs Daie Hawks" in Nakayama town, west of Tendo city.

At this game, we

present many cherries

to members of both teams.

And in June 17, we have a plan of the campaing about cherries at

Tokorozawa Baseball studium

in Saitama Prefecture next to Tokyo.

June 8 (Mon.) New project in Yamadera
(the highest temparature 24.0C / the lowest temparature 9.9C / weather - fine)

The "Yamadera"(old temple) is one of the beautiful place around Tendo.

But it is Yamagata city, not Tendo city.

Yamagata city has a plan to

redevelop

around Yamadera.

They spread in the front of the main gate and redevelop the road from the gate to the main temple "Risshaku-Ji".
