Hidari-Uma
30cm-hight "Okigoma"

There is a unique shogi piece "Hidari Uma"(a shogi piece of the left horse). The "Hidari Uma" that the letter of "the horse" is written in the inverse and it is a unique characteristic shogi piece which it was born in Tendo.

Around Tendo, it is useful as a present for a person who builds a house or begins business, etc. Why we present the "Hidari Uma", it is because that we regard the "Hidari Uma" the defense piece of the business prosperity, causes good luck.

On the "Hidari Uma", the letter of "the horse" is written in the inverse. It can be read with "ma-u"(dance) when "u-ma"(the horse) is read from the inverse. The sound of "ma-u" makes us remember "dance". We have danced in the lucky time from the old days, for example a festival, after harvest, etc. So the "Hidari Uma" causes good luck, we think.

Furthermore, a part under the letter of "the horse" looks like shape of the old Japanese wallet "Kinchaku". A mouth of the "Kinchaku" becomes muscular well, put money doesn't run away. So the "Hidari Uma" is also the symbol of the wealth from old days.

That is the reason why we regard the "Hidari Uma" a defense piece of the business prosperity which causes good luck. They sell the "Hidari Uma" at the shogi shops and as Gift shops as a "Okigoma"(ornament) and "Netsukegoma"(a kind of key ring), etc. Would you like buying one, too ?
