Aug. 8 (Sun.) Tendo summer festival (the highest 36.8C /the lowest 23.2C /weather - fine)

We hold the "Tendo summer fesitval" on August 8 and 9 every year. It is on Sunday and Monday this year. We held a flower hat dance parade at the 1st day. Many people danced on a main street from Tendo hot spring to the Tendo station. Many booths stands on the both side of the main street. It seemed that many peole enjoy the festival not only the children but also the adult.

Aug. 5 (Thu.) Flower Hat Dance in Yamagata (the highest 34.1C /the lowest 22.7C /weather - cloudy)

In August, many summer festivals begin in each place of Tohoku district in Japan. In Yamagata city they start "Hanagasa Matsuri"(Flower Hat Dance) today. Perhaps you know it because it was featured in the whole country news as well. They hold the Flower Hat Dance in Yamagata on August 5, 6 and 7, for 3 days. Then we hold the "Tendo summer festival" after that.

Aug. 4 (Tue.) Study of Sake, women colege student in Tokyo (the highest 35.4C /the lowest 23.1C /weather - fine)

3 students of women's college student in Tokyo come to one of Japanese sake breweries in Tendo city "Dewazakura" to tudy and be trained for 1 week. They are the students of Tokyo agriculture university, international food information college, creature enterprise information subject.

It is usual to make Japanese sake in winter. So there are many people who comes in winter to study how to make Japanese sake. But it is said that it is very rare to come in summer. Moreover, it is the first time that a woman came for study. In Japan a wine boom is long. Recentrly many brewery develop new Japanese sake which moved young women even in the world of Japanese sake.

Aug. 3 (Tue.) More smoothly, Yamagata Highway (the highest 35.3C /the lowest 22.9C /weather - fine)

They began 4 lane construction of Yamagata highway today. This time they construct a section from Yamagata-Kita interchange to Yamagata-Zao interchange. They say that they will finish at the middle of the 10th year of Heisei(before 2010). A section from Yamagata-Zao interchange to Tohoku highway has been already made 4 lane. If the costruction is finished, we can drive very smoothly at the season of the cherry picking and Japanese "Obon"(in the middle of August).
